Short Rotation Coppice (SRC) is a sustainable agroforestry system in which fast-growing trees and shrubs are cultivated in a repeated cycle of planting, growth, and harvest over relatively short periods, typically ranging from 2 to 5 years. SRC is primarily used for biomass production and can also be employed for phytoremediation of wastewater. It can be used for treating domestic or municipal wastewater, industrial wastewater and agricultural runoff.
